BALLET

Ballet is an excellent foundation for all styles of dance as it encourages body awareness, technique and discipline. Each class is designed so that the student is warmed up at the barre, centred, and challenged through large travelling sequences from the corner.

The Ballet syllabus that we teach at Times Performing Arts Academy is that of the internationally recognised Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

JAZZ

Jazz encompasses a variety of dance styles. This style encourages flexibility, energy and strength. Big Leaps, Quick Turns, Fancy Footwork and unique moves is what this styles about. From basic straight up Jazz to Broadway, this style is vibrant and powerful.

CONTEMPORARY 

Contemporary dance can not be defined by a single technique but a collection of methods allowing this style to continuously evolve and to draw influence from as many genres as possible. Contemporary at Times Performing Arts Academy will challenge the dancer in all planes of movement, transitioning in and out of the floor, and to find orientation upside down and inside out.

INTRO 1 & INTRO 2

Intro 1 and Intro 2 ballet is the perfect introduction to dance for Children aged 4-6 yrs. During these classes we will explore elements of classical ballet to help encourage creativity, musicality, co-ordination, balance and imagination.

HIP HOP

Hip Hop is one of those styles that adopts many genres, and can be seen in music video clips. After warming up, the remainder of the class is spent on learning choreography and developing the strength and precision to execute the highly stylised movement.

KPOP

The creation of K-pop has resulted in a new dance style which is gaining popularity amongst the young throughout the world.  The dance style incorporates a variety of hip hop techniques ranging from popping to grooving to breaking plus a combination of street dance.   It also involves hip movements and lots of facial expression.
